Bitterroot Stampers- Meeting #6 June 6th

Kaye O. was the hostess for this meeting.  Kaye's hostess party is going to be our first order with the new 2012-13 catalog.  There are new things in the catalog that we all can't wait to try and use.
This meeting is our last until next fall.  We have decided that we don't want to meet during the summer because we all have way too many other things that we want to do.
I wanted to give everyone something for our last meeting so I made these frames below.
I used the new in-color raspberry ripple for the background color.
I think this is one of my favorite new colors.
The poem below I found in one of  my saved samples/idea box.
I thought it was a good reminder.
I printed it out on very vanilla from the computer and then took crumb cake to the edges.
The stamp set is a retired set called XXXXX
I stamped it on the watercolor paper using black StazOn ink.
Then I used watercolor wonders and reinkers to color the flowers.
I think they were supposed to be hydrangeas, but I wanted them to be lilacs.
I will have to show the ladies how the watercolor wonders work next fall when we start meeting again.
I think they will really enjoy using them.
I decided that since we weren't going to meet for awhile that it would be a good idea to make a few cards so that they would have some on hand.
So I designed 3 cards.  One birthday card, one Thank You and one general use card.
I cut enough supplies so that everyone would be able to have about 3 of each.
One of the techniques that I showed them was how to use the Stamp-a-ma-jig.
The Thank You card below used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to position the thank you very much stamp.

Bitterroot Stampers- Meeting #5 May 21st

Today was Donna's day to be the hostess.
Donna made a wonderful chicken casserole, Mexican style with a green salad.
For dessert she made a lemon cream style cake.
 All of it was delicious!
It was also Shirley's Birthday.  So we celebrated of course!

Here are the projects that we made:
Below is a small notebook that we covered with Marina Mist paper that was embossed using one of the backgrounds 1 texturz plates.
We also made these cute book marks.
We used the bigshot to cut fabric flowers and sewed them together with a button on top.
The ribbon was sewn after it was looped around a hairband.
The hairband works like an elastic to stretch when needed.
The flower was hot glued to the ribbon.
Rose red seam binding ribbon was tied in a bow to cover where the ribbon attaches around the hairband.
We also made a birthday card using pennant parade (below)
I used a new In-Color from the 2012-13 catalog on this card-Gumball Green
The other colors are: Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Perfect Plum.
I saw this idea on a blog page and thought it had a nice clean, crisp look to it.
The background texture was made with the bigshot and the polkadot embossing folder.
At this meeting I showed the ladies how to use markers to color different areas of a stamp
and the importance of huffing. lol

Bitterroot Stampers- Meeting #4 May 2nd

Shirley M was the hostess today and she made delicious enchiladas with corn bread, a green salad and Kahlua cake for dessert.  It was a Cinco de Mayo theme.  I made strawberry Daiquiris and Piña Coladas not even knowing that Shirley was going to have a Mexican theme.
Here are the projects from our 4th get together:
We made coasters and a card using the embossing technique.
Everyone came up with some really neat ideas for their coasters.
Joni's coasters below:
Jackie's coasters below
Shirley's coasters below

We also made a card that used embossing for the flowers.
I got this idea from a fellow Demonstrator friend.  Thanks Patty
I will post a picture of the card later.
Updated later:  Finally the card

For this card we used: Very Vanilla, Choc Chip and Baja Breeze cardstock
Set:  Betsy's blossoms
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Clear embossing powder

Bitterroot Stampers-Meeting #3- April 25th

For our club meeting April 25th
We had a surprise party for Marti B.
She had no idea that we were going to celebrate her Birthday which was a couple days earlier.
It was a lot of fun surprising her.
Lygia brought the Keye Lime pie and the mimosas.
It was delicious!
Happy Birthday Marty
Jackie was the hostess for this meeting.  She made a tortilla soup that was very tastey.
Below, Jackie sporting her new granny glasses!
She is stylin'

Definately a Happy Group!
Projects that we made:
Below is a flowerpot card.  It can be used as a gift card holder.
The flowers are attached to a seperate card that slides out of the pot (see below)
The card part below can be used to attach a gift card or
to write a little note.
The blossom punch coordinates with the print blossom set.
This card uses the summer smooches paper and the coordinating stamp set that goes with the suite.
These items will be available in the new catalog starting in June.
