Sapphire Stampers Club Nov 17th (Judy Mae H. is hostess)

I have so many Judy's in my clubs this year!
There are 3 all together.
I have never known so many Judy's.
Judy Mae made a tasty soup (can not spell the name of the soup). But, it was a cabbage and potato cream soup.  She also made Irish Soda bread to eat with it.  For dessert, she brought a carrot cake.  Thanks Judy Mae!

Now for pictures of the projects.
This card uses the festive trees set and the "On Point" embossing folder.
The colors are garden green and cherry cobbler along with Baked Brown Sugar.
Lot's of layers on this card.
This card was a new technique for the evening.
One of the techniques was to use the "Stampamajig" to line up the ornament and the hook.
The colors of paper are VV, cherry cobbler and the under the tree specialty DSP.
We used the Ornamental Pine stamp set using Always Artichoke, Soft Suede and Cherry cobbler inks.
To give it the glittery effect, we covered the stamped image piece of paper with versa mark and then used the iridescent ice embossing powder.
The silver ribbon and "All is Calm" snowflake embellishment gave it a little more bling!
Fun card to make.
The little wreath tea light below was made using the wonderous wreath set.
We stamped 3 wreaths and used some of the Trim the tree paperstack paper to wrap around the electric tea light.  The bow is made with the cherry cobbler seam binding ribbon.
So cute!  I found this on another website and couldn't resist making them.
You had to "futz" with the bow a bit, but they turned out cute!
The card below also uses garden green and cherry cobbler.
The stamp comes from the "Mingle all the Way" set
There are  2 types of DSP.  "Under the tree" (herringbone pattern) and "Trim the tree" (plaid piece) paper stack.
The ribbon is the cherry cobbler seam binding ribbon.  We had to do a little fussy cutting for the Cheer.

Bitterroot Stampers Club (Season 4) Nov 13th (Jackie C. is hostess)

Jackie made a delicious corn chowder soup with bread for dinner.  Yum!
We also had pumpkin bread with cream cheese frosting and we washed it all down with Almond Joys!
Fun Christmas projects for this class.
I'm going to post the pictures of the projects when I post about the 2nd club (Sapphire Stampers)

Christmas Card Classes

This last weekend was the Christmas Card class.
There were 93 cards made over the weekend!
It was a very busy and fun weekend.
I wish I would remember to take some pictures.
The bigshot got a good workout and lots of glue dots were used!
I want to Thank all my customers for making the event so successful.

New stamp club this year. Club 2 Nov 4 (Hostess- Shari K.)

I have 2 stamp clubs this season.
Our first meeting for the new club was Nov 4, 2014
We started with a review of how the club will work and then picked calendar dates for the rest of the year.  We also drew names to see when everyone would be hostess.  It was decided that all the clubs would start at 1630.

Here are the Club dates:

November 17th- Hostess, Judy Haraseth
January 20th- Hostess, Judy Heintz
February 17th- Hostess, Sydney K.
March 26th- Hostess, Kathy P.
April ?- Hostess, Linda B.

We will be meeting twice this month since I had to postpone their first meeting because I had bronchitis.
We will also skip December since everyone is so busy.
They are still deciding if they want to have the hostess bring a light meal or a treat.

Christmas Card Class

Hello, It's time for my Christmas Card class!
I have 4 different designs this year.
I work my Christmas Card classes a little different than most of my workshops.
So let me explain:
  • First off you don't have to feel obligated to purchase anything from the catalog (but I would be happy to put an order in for you anytime!)
  • You only pay for the cards you make.
    • $2.00 each.
  • Look at the designs below and pick the one(s) you want to make and decide how many of each and let me know by Nov. 12th. (I need time to make all the kits for everyone)
  • Decide which of the 2 days you want to come make them (let me know this part too)
    • Saturday Nov 15th at 4:00 pm
    • Sunday Nov 16th at 1:00 pm
  • Go home with your Christmas Cards ready to address and send (envelopes are included)!
 #1- Silver Snowflake
(just a heads up-this card is a little more advanced and takes more time)
You may have noticed that one has a bow and one has Washi tape (that is to make it easier to mail)
 #2- Trees
 #3-Merry Christmas
#4- Gold Stars

Bitterroot Stampers Club (Season 4) Oct 27th (Shirley M. is hostess)

It's the start of another season, Season 4, for the Bitterroot Stampers (BS Club).
Since this was the first get together for the season we selected dates and hostesses.
We also decided that we would meet at 4:30 each night.
Shirley M. was selected for this meeting.

Here is the schedule for the next meetings.
November 13th- Hostess, Jackie C.
Skip December
January 15th- Hostess, Judy L.
February 25th- Hostess, Donna S.
March 25th- Hostess, Marti B.
April 22nd- Guest Hostess, Darlene V.

Everyone brought some really good finger foods to snack on.
These ladies set the bar pretty high for treats!
Below, Tomato Brochette, Pumpkin Bars, Egg Salad and Pimento Cheese Sandwiches, Little tarts,
and the most adorable spider deviled eggs!
All were delicious

Here are a few pictures of the cards we made.
We covered several techniques in this meeting.
The card below uses watercolor paper and spritzing the stamped images after stamping for a watercolor effect.
We also incorporated some washi (wasabi for some) tape.
The colors used on this card are Blackberry Bliss, Crumb Cake and Crushed Curry.
We also used a piece of thread from the burlap ribbon for the bow on the gold button.
We love the crinkle effect it has.
The card below was a really fun technique.
It is a variation of the emboss resist technique.
We first stamped a piece of Kraft paper with the hardwood stamp using versa mark so that we could heat emboss with clear embossing powder.
Then we took a cherry cobbler ink pad and saturated the entire piece
(we wore gloves for this step, very messy)
After inking we wiped off the excess ink with a tissue.
The last step was to iron it between copy paper to remove the embossing.  We did this step twice.
The result was this distressed wood grain effect.  LOVE IT!!
We also took the thread from the burlap ribbon to use in the button and give the burlap ribbon a fringe.  The leaves were cut using the leaf die and the big shot.
Colors: Hello Honey, Cajun Craze and Mossy Meadow
The card below used the baby wipe technique.
I made an ink pad using a baby wipe and re-inkers.
The colors that I used were: Blackberry Bliss, Tangerine Tango, Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow.
The paper for the card is Soft Suede.
The ribbon is Blackberry Bliss and the wooden leaf accessory uses another burlap thread to tie.

A few more things to mention, Donna's Sister Darlene came to this meeting as a guest.
We sure did enjoy her being there.  Wish she lived closer to enjoy all of our stamping fun!
But to coax her back, we made her the guest hostess in April.
And hopefully Marti's sister, Peggy will be able to come in April as well.

World Card Making Day

Hello, we have had some beautiful fall days the last couple days.
Love the fall, hate that summer is gone.

Last night I had a stamping event in honor of "World Card Making Day".
I had the makings for 3 cards ready for everyone to make.
With everyone's help we were able to make 55 cards to donate to a couple of the assisted living centers in the area!  That was awesome!
I want to Thank Everyone for all their help.
I couldn't have done it with out you.
We even made all the envelopes with the Envelope Punch Board from Stampin' Up.
Item number 133774 for $19.95.
It is so handy to be able to make envelopes of any size to match your cards!
I was able to use up a lot of my paper that has been discontinued.
And I couldn't think of a better purpose!

Where has the Summer Gone!

Seems it has slipped by way to fast.
Since I haven't posted anything for quite awhile I decided I would post a couple cards that I have done recently.
Hope to be posting more soon now that we are getting less gorgeous days outside.

I used the new confetti star punch to create all the little stars on this card.
It is a fun border punch too!
I also added dazzling diamonds to increase the bling.
Yup, I have slipped a Christmas card in the mix.
Getting the juices flowing to come up with ideas for the Christmas card class.
I am in love with the new holiday catalog!
Check it out HERE
I used the Festive Trees set in the card below.
I can see tons of possibilities with that set.
I actually plan to use these 2 cards for swaps at a Stampin' Up event on Sat.

Customer Appreciation Night

Customer Appreciation Night was a lot of fun.
This group of ladies is so much fun.
I can't thank them enough.
Below they are intently looking thru the new 2014-15 catalog.
Lots of cool stuff in there!

The new catalogs with a little surprise made with the new gift card envelope
The treat table with cookies from Red Rooster Bakery located in Hamilton.
Pictured on the cake tower are Lemon Lavender shortbread and Raspberry Meringue thumbprints.

Gotta love jalapeno jelly w/ cream cheese for crackers.
I made shrimp salad in lettuce bowls
Everyone made 3 of the make and take card.
It was made with Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe and one of the new in-colors,
blackberry bliss

Can't wait for this fall when we will start again and get the creativity going again.

Bitterroot Stampers Club (season 3) May 14th (Donna Steffensen is Hostess)

Our last club of the season.  Sadness.
I am already thinking about the techniques we will do next season.
If you are interested in joining a stamp club next season, let me know.
I will be forming clubs in the fall (Sept/Oct).
Below: We used the flower die to make a tags for the muslin bags.
We combined Raspberry Ripple and Primerose Petal

For this card we used the label card framelet.
The inside was stamped with a greeting from Petite Pairs.
We used crisp cantaloupe and some of the watercolor wonder paper
The card below was a technique using ink, spritzing with alcohol and then drying with the heat tool.
We then embossed the fish with versa mark and white embossing powder.
It gave it a primitive look with some of the embossing powder left scattered.
I gave the ladies a color challenge card swap to bring for our last night.
7 cards incorporating cantaloupe crisp, coastal cabana and strawberry slush.
They are all so fantastic!  They did such a great job.

Stamp Workshop April 26th

I had some customers that wanted to come and make some cards, so I put together a class to make 3 card designs.  They made 2 of each design and went home with 6 quick cards.

This first card was inspired by a sample that was on the Stampin' Up web page.
It uses a technique called second generation stamping.
The perfect plum, pear pizazz and blushing bride color was a new combination for me, but I think it turned out nice.  I am loving the candy dots for accent color
Below is a quick design that can be easily modified with color.
I used Melon Mambo in the scheme below.
The "Happy Watercolor" set was used for the flower and saying.
Using rhinestones or pearls adds a little bling.
The 3rd card had a choice of designer paper.
The designer paper pretty much makes this card.
I used the Retro Fresh DSP and everyone had a choice of 4 different paper patterns to choose from.
I used Coastal Cabana to accent the designer paper and frame the sentiment "Make a Wish" from the "Perfect Pennants" set.
This is the first time I have used the burlap ribbon which can give a more masculine feel and add texture.
I love the Basic metal buttons because they are so flat and better for mailing.
(edited 5/6/14-- So happy to see that these buttons are in the new 2014-15 caty)

A couple cards same design

The card below is a card that I included as a Thank You for my club members in their last purchase.
I just love those ladies!  They are so fun.
The flower is made with the pansy punch and vellum paper.
I used the "Gorgeous Grunge" set to make the background dots and the saying is from "Bring on the Cake" set.  The pearls give it a little bling.  The colors are delightful daffodil and pear pizzaz on crumb cake.
I took the same simple card design and changed it up for wedding card by simply changing the color scheme to silver and white.  By changing the pearls to rhinestones, and the linen twine to bakers twine w/silver gave to it a little bling and coordinate the silver scheme.  I added silver foil to frame the white.
I think it turned out really elegant looking.
This card has already been put to use for a wedding we went to last week.

Bitterroot Stampers Club (season 3) Apr 9th (Shirley M., is hostess)

Shirley made tastey meatballs with a bean salad, cheesy sticks and a wonderful cheesecake.

Here is a quick card I made for everyone.
It uses cantaloupe crisp, the sweet sorbet paper and the Happy watercolor set

We made a set of cards that could be used as a gift for someone.
We used the envelope punch to make the card holder
It is big enough to hold 4 cards w/envelopes.
The belly band was decorated and can slip on and off easily.
The dimensions of the holder are 9 x 9 and then using the envelope punch board, score at 3.5, 4.5 and punching also.  Turn and use score lines to score each of the other 3 sides.
We made 4 cards with envelopes which fit in the envelope box that we made.
This is a close up of the belly band.

The card below also uses the Happy watercolor set for the background dots.
